for the Fire Rescue Service in Sweden

Featured scenario

The fire trucks arrive on the scene of a building on fire.
After the fire crews have quickly assessed the situation, they get to work on the rescue effort. The incident commander provides a Situation Report to the command center via the radio, briefly describing the scene.
Once the incident commander has a comprehensive understanding of the situation (usually about half an hour), he starts gathering all the information on the whiteboards at the back of the command vehicle. This is also often used as a tool to coordinate with the fire crew leaders, and for example police and medical personnel.
Updating the command center on the current status is usually done verbally with the radio. Using Instaboard, the Incident leader can send additional, visual information to the command center. Simply taking a picture detects the edges of the whiteboard, and adjusts the angles and contrast to make it a clean image.
Then there is a three second delay where it is possible to cancel, otherwise the image is automatically sent to the Instaboard Cloud.
In the Command Center, the processed image will be seen instantly in the Instaboard Cloud Service. On the computer screen are all the images of this incident, sorted by whiteboard and stacked chronologically. The latest picture can then be shown on the video wall for everyone to see who is working on the case. The Instaboard Cloud Service will also serve as a journal for a history of incidents and the whiteboards created. This will assist in reviewing incidents afterwards.

The whiteboards

The command vehicle contains four whiteboards. The Instaboard will append two of these whiteboards with a predefined template to enable a more efficient communication. The featured sections were developed together with the Fire Rescue Service of Gothenburg.
